The Jalsa and Jilpa Snack edition |
For random nonsense that happens to come in small sized bites. For better packaged, larger chunks of the same kind of..um..sense of the "non" kind, head over to Doing Jalsa and Showing Jilpa |
Every once in a while, I hear some one in my family quote Issac Newton. No, not on the subject of differential calculus or the gravitational constant, but the Third Law of motion. Yes, the one that sounds so metaphysical that it could pretty much to apply to anything. Here are a few sample misquotes of the law
1. The Karmic edition - He will pay for his mistakes. In this universe, every action in life has an equal and opposite reaction, so always do good blah blah
2. The Alternative Medicine edition - Reiki/Magnet therapy/Crystals work because every action of the medicines produce a reaction in the body. Duh
3. The Business Bull edition - We must evolve a proactive approach because simple actions on current market intelligence will produce adverse reactions
4. The Cricket Sledging edition - The Australians can sledge all they want. All their abusive actions will definitely produce a strong, telling reaction from the Indian team
And so on. Perhaps Newton should have phrased the law slightly differently. Something obscurantist about transfer of momenta etc.
