The Jalsa and Jilpa Snack edition |
For random nonsense that happens to come in small sized bites. For better packaged, larger chunks of the same kind of..um..sense of the "non" kind, head over to Doing Jalsa and Showing Jilpa |
I recently learnt that Hindi has no equivalent of the verb “own”. You could say:
This house is mine - यह घर मेरा है
But not
I own this house.
You could do some rope tricks and say things like
I am the owner of this house - मैं इस घर का मालिक हूँ
But you can’t say
I own this house
And therefore, it follows that one cannot also say
I pwned you
So I ask you - in the internet world, what good is a language if pwnage is nahin possible hai? So I urge my Hindi speaking brethren to invent a word for this right away. Not necessary for “own”, but at least “pwn”.Let me know if you run out of words. I could hook you up with some brokers who could you lend you some. Pwn brokers. Ha ha.
